The Browns will interview fired New York Jets coach Eric Mangini and current New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo this week for their coaching vacancy, NFL sources said. The Browns also are trying to get permission to talk to some of their other candidates, including Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett and Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz. It is not yet known if they will be interested in fired Broncos coach Mike Shanahan.

Las Vegas sports books favor the New York Giants over the 11 other teams in the NFL playoffs to win the Super Bowl, giving 2-to-1 odds on the NFC's No. 1 seed to repeat as champions. The Tennessee Titans are the favorite among AFC teams to win a title at 4-1, closely followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers at 9-2.

The Monday morning headline: "Dominate and desecrate - Titans mock Terrible Towel, lock up the AFC's top seed." While many praised the Titans for their strong effort in a 31-14 win over the Steelers on Sunday, Steelers fans, plus national and Pittsburgh media, scorned several Tennessee players' antics. In the closing seconds of the game, at least four Titans, Keith Bulluck, Jevon Kearse, Bo Scaife and LenDale White, stomped on one of the yellow towels that Pittsburgh fans swing over their heads during games and is revered cloth throughout Steelers nation. Kearse also was seen pretending to blow his nose on a Terrible Towel.

Jeff Fisher didn't see any of his Titans stomping their feet on Terrible Towels after beating the Pittsburgh Steelers. Seeing the footage on Monday didn't make him happy. "This was just a couple guys playing around with a towel. It was unnecessary in my opinion," Fisher said.

Titans quarterback Vince Young has filed a lawsuit in Houston against three individuals who applied for the trademark "VY" and "INVINCEABLE" after Young guided Texas to the national championship in 2006. Young wants them to relinquish the trademark so he can use it. The third-year pro has been prevented from getting marketing deals, including some that were in the works for Reebok, Young's agent said on Wednesday. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court on Dec. 12 against Rodney Vannerson, Enos Cabell and Tom Roberson, listed as "three friends."

Good thing the Tennessee Titans already clinched the AFC South title, a first-round bye and a home playoff game. Winning the AFC's No. 1 seed for the postseason will be a much bigger challenge without the right side of their defensive line.

There is no disputing this: If the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Titans on Sunday and the rival Browns the following weekend, they will own home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. Even if they lose to the Titans and/or Browns, they will be the No. 2-seeded team and would travel during the AFC playoffs only if they met Tennessee (12-2) for the conference championship.

Never mind that they've already clinched the AFC South and a first-round playoff bye, the Tennessee Titans are miffed about their 13-12 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday. A letdown could be expected after securing their playoff spot last week, but a win against Houston and a Pittsburgh loss later on Sunday would have secured home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Tennessee Titans aren't about to be distracted by a power outage in their locker room or a struggling opponent. Not now. Not as a division champion.

Tennessee Titans backup quarterback Vince Young was sidelined for practice again on Thursday because of an infected right thumb, while starting cornerbacks Nick Harper and Cortland Finnegan also sat out for a second straight day. Coach Jeff Fisher said Harper (ankle) and Finnegan (hamstring) each had a chance to practice on Friday.
