Please click to visit our new Games Area (requires Flash 9) Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger has come to the aid of his embattled fellow QB, Donovan McNabb. The Eagles QB has caused a wave of hilarity nationwide for confessing that he did not know NFL games could end in a tie after the Birds struggled to a 13-13 standoff in Cincinnati (Some of his teammates said the same thing). Roethlisberger, one of Pittsburgh's offensive captains, estimated yesterday that half the league's players did not know. The Steelers' Hines Ward, a former Super Bowl MVP and an 11 season veteran, acknowledged he was among them, and he played in a tie 6 years ago.

Late last summer, the Cardinals and agent Mark Bartelstein agreed to suspend negotiations to extend QB Kurt Warner's contract due to one unanswered question, should Warner be paid as a starter or a backup? It has only taken a few weeks of the season for that question to be answered. Warner is a leading contender to win a 3rd NFL Most Valuable Player award, and the Cardinals are on the cusp of their 1st division title in 33 years. Yet negotiations have not resumed.

Brandon Jacobs said on Tuesday that he got "good news" from the MRI on his left knee, but he still might not play on Sunday in Arizona. The Giants' top running back, who injured his knee in the 2nd quarter of this past Sunday's 30-10 win over the Ravens, confirm the MRI showed "no major damage".

Adam Jones is back in Dallas. Jones has completed a 30 day stint in a Boston alcohol treatment center. A source informed us the treatment center determined Jones does not have any alcohol problems. Jones is trying to get back in the league after getting suspended on October 14 for violations to the conduct policy. He's awaiting NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's decision.

Dolphins outside linebacker Joey Porter runs his mouth the way he rushes the passer, at full speed. However, Porter's latest incendiary comments hardly registered a ripple with the Patriots, at least publicly. Instead of trading barbs with Porter, the Patriots ceded the floor to him yesterday, the day after Porter informed reporters in South Florida that he did not like the Patriots and felt New England disrespected the Dolphins last season in a 28-7 win by running the ball instead of kneeling late in the 4th quarter. Porter also accused the Patriots of purposely punting into the area where the Dolphins were stretching during warm-ups before the teams' 1st meeting this season, a 38-13 win for Miami.
