The legal troubles of Giants' star Plaxico Burress continued to mount on Monday when a Florida woman sued him, claiming she was injured when he slammed into her car. Alise Smith, 27, of Miami said she suffered neck and back injuries in May when a tailgating Burress rear-ended her 1997 Ford Probe with his $140,000 Mercedes-Benz. Compounding Burress' problems was that he failed to make his insurance payments and his Allstate coverage was terminated three days before the crash. "She's got a couple of herniated discs, which she's still being treated for," Smith's attorney, Adam Dougherty said on Monday, adding that his client's medical bills have surpassed $16,000.

Bills coach Dick Jauron anticipates he'll be back next season despite receiving no public assurances from team management or owner Ralph Wilson, and overseeing a meltdown that reached a low after Buffalo's latest bumbling loss.

In the wake of back-to-back losses where his team managed to score only six points, Bills coach Dick Jauron is starting to come under fire, not only by fans and media, but by his bosses. Following Buffalo's 16-3 loss to Miami in Toronto on Sunday, team owner Ralph Wilson, spoke publicly for the first time in quite a while regarding the Bills' collapse from a 5-1 record to its current 6-7 mark, as did chief operating officer Russ Brandon. "We just didn't play well," Wilson said. "We haven't got the talent. We didn't play well. The coaches? They can't go out and kick the ball. They can't go out and tackle. ... Hey, the way we're playing it's tough to get three points."

This Sunday, the Buffalo Bills play host to the Miami Dolphins in Toronto. An alleged home game for the players, but not for many of their loyal supporters in western New York. As of last week, various reports said only a few thousand tickets for Sunday's game were purchased by customers in the Buffalo area. It's easy to see why. From business owners in Orchard Park to season ticket holders who have braved rain, sleet, snow and ice at The Ralph, sometimes all during the same quarter, there are feelings of bitterness and paranoia toward the Toronto game. Most of all, they feel robbed of the experience, and, in some cases, revenues, that home games here provide.

Bills starting tight end Robert Royal and starting cornerback Jabari Greer won't play because of injuries when Buffalo hosts the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Royal hurt his hamstring in the Bills' win at Kansas City on Sunday and didn't practice all week. Greer's right knee was injured against Cleveland two weeks ago and he'll miss his second straight game.

First there was "text message-gate" in the Kellen Winslow affair. Now there is "e-mail-gate" swirling around the Browns. On Thursday, Browns GM Phil Savage apologized to a fan for using a profane word in an e-mail response. "True, it happened", Savage wrote in an e-mail to The Plain Dealer. "We have both apologized to each other since. The Browns' fans have overwhelmingly been positive towards me since 2005, and I appreciate that greatly". The exchange came during the Browns' 29-27 win against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. The fan, who appeared on WKNR AM/850 and was identified only as Brett, informed host Tony Rizzo that he sent Savage an e-mail at 11:37 p.m. whilst the Browns were ahead in the game. He called Savage "the worst GM in the NFL" and questioned why the Browns do not use running back Jerome Harrison more, among other things. Savage responded at 12:17 a.m. 23 minutes after the game ended. His e-mail reply, "Go root for Buffalo, f -you". Browns spokesman Bill Bonsiewicz said owner Randy Lerner considered the matter to be over.

Brady Quinn got his 1st NFL win as a starter almost single-handedly. Quinn broke his right index finger during the 1st half of Monday night's game against the Buffalo Bills, but Cleveland's new starting QB stayed in and led the Browns to a 29-27 win. Inspite of the injury, Quinn will attempt to play on Sunday when the Browns host the Houston Texans.

Cleveland Browns GM Phil Savage has apologized to a fan for sending a profane e-mail following Monday night's game against the Buffalo Bills. Savage used an expletive in his response to the fan, who criticized the GM in several e-mail exchanges. "It happened after the game", said Savage in an e-mail to The Associated Press.

Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow will have an MRI on his right shoulder after injuring it in the closing minutes of Monday night's win over the Buffalo bills. Winslow was hurt when he was tackled in front of Buffalo's bench whilst making a 16-yard reception that set up Cleveland's game winning field goal.
